Have you used the word responsible to describe yourself on your Linkedin profile? So have millions of others according to a new report by LinkedIn. The networking site has trawled through the 259 million profiles registered to find out the most overused words of the year.
The word ‘responsible’ came out on top being used twice as much as any other words on the list.
Responsible knocked the ironically commonplace ‘creative’ off the top spot to third place after two years as the most popular buzzword. This shows a shift to professionals wanting to be perceived as more practical and stable rather than trailblazers.

LinkedIn also tracked regional differences in how people wanted to appear. Enthusiastic only appeared in the UK's top-ten. Sustainable only made the cut in the Netherlands. Passionate is top-ten only in Australia and New Zealand. Patient appears in the top-ten only in the USA accounting for 50 percent of mentions worldwide.
