We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the IT sector. We have an excellent opportunity for an IT Support Technician to work for a High School in London. The role will report into the Director of Technology and will be responsible for technology operations to support the students, employees, and parents. The role is responsible for ensuring that all technology support needs are logged, investigated, and resolved within the target time frames, as well as for the planning, management, oversight, and implementation of all technology equipment and systems.

Salary: £34,000 FTE - Actual £25,921 - £26,697 (DOE), working School Term Time only

IT Support Technician’s Core Duties

  • Respond to requests for support from faculty, staff and students within the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Provide and participate in training to faculty, staff, students and parents on relevant school learning and productivity platforms, digital tools and hardware resources
  • Perform installation, setup, configuration and testing of new devices, peripheral hardware, and software
  • Maintain the department Knowledge Base of technology support resources (i.e. Tutorials, screencasts, infographics, etc.)
  • Develop, maintain and update documentation relating to delivery, imaging, installation, setup, configuration, testing and maintenance procedures
  • Manage the technical preparation of the digital exam platform, NWEA MAP, by overseeing the rostering of students, deployment of software, and delivering proctor training
  • Maintain systems to ensure that accounts, licenses, and access permissions are up to date
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of databases
  • Collaborate with Technology Manager to ensure technology inventory is accurate and up to date, and assists with an annual inventory update
  • Research and test hardware and software solutions to improve the classroom experience
  • Support specific events and initiatives that require some weekend and out-of-hours work

IT Support Technician’s Skills required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline (desirable)
  • Experience working in an international/independent school environment (desirable)
  • Strong experience with Apple MacOS and iOS platforms (desirable)
  • Substantial experience in providing 1st and 2nd line support
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace for Education, MacOS, Windows OS, iOS, and Android
  • Strong technical and networking troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • A proven commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
