We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the IT Security sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Cyber Defence Consultant to work for a market leading and incredibly innovative Security Consultancy with blue chip clients across EMEA.

As a consultant you will solve our clients’ most challenging problems, including the ones they don’t know exist. You must be self-motivated with a thirst to learn new technologies and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Remote working, with travel to customers and the office when required.

Salary: £70k - £90k + 15% Bonus + Extra for the ideal candidate.

Senior Cyber Defence Consultant’s Core Duties

  • Working within the Cyber Defence practice you will have exposure to a variety of security technologies delivering security implementations and/or remediation programmes
  • Working with team members you will create high quality reports, ready for review by a Senior Manager
  • Identifying opportunities to assist clients further and escalate these as appropriate
  • Establishing and building a network of contacts within client organisations
  • Working with Service Delivery, you will assist with planning and delivery phases of engagements
  • Contributing to the creation of proposals and marketing material
  • Ensuring your work is delivered on time and on budget
  • Contributing to the development of the existing team by sharing knowledge, leading by example, and helping team members to develop

Senior Cyber Defence Consultant’s Key Skills

  • 4 years’ experience in Information and Cyber Security is essential
  • Minimum 2 years’ of consulting experience
  • Industry experience delivering transformation workstreams, or security remediation work
  • A broad background across security and experience in at least 1 of the following would be beneficial;

o Security transformation programmes - design and management of security solution implementations and / or remediation programmes to address risks across AV, patching, secure build, vulnerability scanning & remediation, logging, and monitoring, & threat management

  • Security around emerging technology platforms - primarily Cloud security
  • Breach and incident management, design and implementation of breach and major incident management practices
  • Experience in working with Internet of Things solutions, in particular working with clients to implement security within these environments
  • Experience in working within agile development environments to embed security successfully into systems prior to product / production release
  • Security architecture - creating secure architecture designs for solutions, designing secure patterns for reuse and the delivery of architectural reviews
  • Previous implementation experience with Splunk and hold ES, ITSI or Phantom certification is a must
  • Knowledge of other SIEM products, such as Elastic, Cisco Sourcefire, Exabeam (desirable)
  • Experience with Unix and Windows operating systems; must be very comfortable on the command line interface
  • Excellent networking fundamentals
  • Experience with scripting and application development (including at least one of Python, Perl, shell scripting, regular expressions, SQL, and HTML/JavaScript)
  • Hands-on experience and an understanding of Elasticsearch and/or Lucene and knowledge of Mongo, HDFS (desirable)

Senior Cyber Defence Consultant’s Key Requirements

  • BSc in computer science, cyber-security or a related field including engineering, mathematics, and other STEM subjects
  • Industry certifications (CompTIA, MSCA, LPIC) (desirable)
  • Multilingual (desirable)
  • Ability & flexibility to travel within EMEA (desirable)
  • Highly motivated
  • Solid communicator with the ability to contribute confidently to technical security discussions with peers and management
  • Expertise to translate technical jargon into business familiar language
  • Team player but with the drive for ongoing personal development
