Senior Software Engineer (Node.js)

We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the IT Development sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer who will be part of an international team creating software applications to support a range of leading digital signage media players. The role will largely be focused on the development of an embedded 'Supervisor’ code, which configures and controls the hardware players via a web UI using Node.js, and it will also contribute to cloud services.

Salary up to £150,000 (inc. Bonus) for the ideal candidate, plus equity + excellent benefits

Remote working with occasional travel to the Cambridge office

Senior Software Engineer’s Core Duties

• Develop and maintain 'Supervisor’ software for use in embedded hardware
• Design and build APIs to interact with cloud services securely and efficiently
• Solve challenges across wide ranging customer-focused requirements
• Integrate with internal and external API components
• Collaborate in an agile environment, to involve stand-ups, code reviews, and test planning

Senior Software Engineer’s Key Skills

• Experience of Node.js application development, including ES6+ syntax, in a commercial environment
• Thorough understanding of REST API concepts and cloud-based backends
• Wide ranging experience of web technologies and modules, such as WebSockets, Redis, OAuth, and Express
• Demonstrable ability to write high-quality, robust and testable code
• Exposure to Linux and React (desirable)
• Git source control

Senior Software Engineer’s Key Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience
• BA/BSc in a relevant field would be desirable
• Excellent attention to detail
• Autonomous and adaptable
• Creative and innovative
• Keen interest in new technology and continual professional development
