We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Administration sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Windows Systems Administrator for a leading college in Cambridge. The role holder will support the plan, install, and maintenance of the College’s information systems.
3-months Temporary Position: £40,000 - £50,000 pro-rata + Hybrid Working (1-2 days from home per week)
Windows Systems Administrator’s Core Duties
- Configure, monitor and enhance IT systems including servers and cloud services
- Assist the IT Manager in IT infrastructure projects and development
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of switches and network patch cabling
- User administration
- Respond to technical queries and other requests for help
- Support the end users at all levels
- Configure and maintain the helpdesk system
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to others who are less technical
- Provide support and maintenance of computer and AV resources in shared or public areas
- Provide training and inductions for staff on IT systems
- Confirm IT infrastructure and systems comply with security procedures and guidelines
- Alert the IT Manager to and potential security risks or breaches
- Assist in ensuring compliance with accessibility guidelines
- Act in alignment with UK legislation, University and College policy that supports user needs and system functionality.
Windows Systems Administrator’s Key Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Windows Systems Administrator
- Relevant IT qualifications (desirable)
- Experience supporting Windows Hyper-V and Azure virtual environments (desirable)
- Experience supporting IT infrastructure projects and development (desirable)
- Experience working for a school, college, or educational establishment (desirable)
