We specialise in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Administration sector. We have an excellent opportunity for a Windows Systems Administrator for a leading college in Cambridge. The role holder will support the plan, install, and maintenance of the College’s information systems.

3-months Temporary Position: £40,000 - £50,000 pro-rata + Hybrid Working (1-2 days from home per week)

Windows Systems Administrator’s Core Duties

  • Configure, monitor and enhance IT systems including servers and cloud services
  • Assist the IT Manager in IT infrastructure projects and development
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of switches and network patch cabling
  • User administration
  • Respond to technical queries and other requests for help
  • Support the end users at all levels
  • Configure and maintain the helpdesk system
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to others who are less technical
  • Provide support and maintenance of computer and AV resources in shared or public areas
  • Provide training and inductions for staff on IT systems
  • Confirm IT infrastructure and systems comply with security procedures and guidelines
  • Alert the IT Manager to and potential security risks or breaches
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with accessibility guidelines
  • Act in alignment with UK legislation, University and College policy that supports user needs and system functionality.

Windows Systems Administrator’s Key Skills

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Windows Systems Administrator
  • Relevant IT qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience supporting Windows Hyper-V and Azure virtual environments (desirable)
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure projects and development (desirable)
  • Experience working for a school, college, or educational establishment (desirable)
